Dance 101 Master Class Schedule

Take on a new hobby that will strengthen your body and your mind. Become a dancer, or just look like one. Improve your flexibility, self-confidence, body image, and stamina -- while reducing stress, losing weight, and most important, having fun. Depending on your weight, age, and intensity of movement, you can burn up to 1,000 calories per class.

Once you've made dance part of your life and felt its benefits on your physical and emotional well-being, you'll start planning your week around your favorite classes. Consistency is key to good health, weight loss, and progress, and if you love what you do, consistency is easy. Discover dance ... it will transform you!

Most classes are labeled REC or INS:

A REC (recreational) class will have a short (usually 10-minute) warm up. The remainder of the class is choreography -- learning series of steps that form a dance. The focus of the class is artistry, fun, and serious caloric burn.

An INS (instructional) class will have a longer warm up, followed by across-the-floor and/or center work. These classes will focus on skill building, technique, execution, artistry, polish, and choreographic interpretation. Although the focus is not on caloric burn, you still will gain the metabolism-boosting effects of muscle strengthening and overall conditioning.

A class not designated REC or INS is a conditioning class (strengthening and stretching the muscles).

Dance 101 Class Experience Levels

  • Discover = Absolute Beginner
  • Level 1 = Intermediate Beginner
  • Level 2 = Advanced Beginner
  • Level 3 = Intermediate 
  • Level 4 = Advanced/Professional
